I was born in Taiwan, raised in Hakka culture, and later educated in New Zealand and New York.

Foreign Lands, Familiar Stars is a personal statement reflecting on my millennial immigrant experience; it is raw, emotional, and complex. I am presenting the work created during this process and the process itself. Each piece of work is a distinctive response to the delicate questions I am asking. These responses took on a variety of forms including writings, videos, maps, virtual realities, and beyond. Foreign Lands, Familiar Stars is presented as a web journal, revealing a series of creative investigation and contemplation on self-identity.
